CS Professor, Scientist and Speaker
My name is Andreas Ittner and I am a computer science professor specializing in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain technologies. I have been intensively involved with Machine Learning and Data Mining since my AI studies in the early 1990s.
After my PhD in 1998, I worked as an entrepreneur by co-founding prudsys AG (now GK Artificial Intelligence for Retail AG and today's market leader in the field of real-time analytics) and helping to build this company as a member of the executive board and later as a supervisory board member. In 2007 I changed from business back to academic work and was offered the position of a professor for computer science / distributed information systems at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. In addition to my teaching activities, I lead various R&D projects here with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain. I have been the head of the Blockchain Competence Center Mittweida (BCCM) since 2017. 2021-2024 I was a member of the Digital Council of the Bundesbank and the State government of the Free State of Saxony. I am the author of numerous publications and am often invited to speak at (inter)national scientific and business-related conferences.
