My name is Andreas Ittner and I am a computer science professor specializing in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain technologies. I have been intensively involved with Machine Learning and Data Mining since my AI studies in the early 1990s.After my PhD in 1998, I worked as an entrepreneur by co-founding prudsys AG (now GK Artificial Intelligence for Retail AG and today's market leader in the field of real-time analytics) and helping to build this company as a member of the executive board and later as a supervisory board member. In 2007 I changed from business back to academic work and was offered the position of a professor for computer science / distributed information systems at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. In addition to my teaching activities, I lead various R&D projects here with a focus on Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain. I have been the head of the Blockchain Competence Center Mittweida (BCCM) since 2017. Since 2021 I am a member of the Digital Council of the Bundesbank and the State government of the Free State of Saxony. I am the author of numerous publications and am often invited to speak at (inter)national scientific and business-related conferences.
For more than 25 years I have been dealing with analytics, data science and data mining algorithms (in 1992 still under the AI term "Machine Learning"). As the author of many scientific and application-oriented publications, I have presented my R&D results at various (inter-)national conferences (ICML, KDD, IFSA, etc.). My areas of expertise include decision tree methods, SV machines and Neural Networks (Deep Learning & chatGPT).
Since the early years I have been intensively involved in research and teaching with this fascinating technology. I lead various R&D projects as well as the Blockchain Competence Center Mittweida (BCCM) as its director at our university. Since 2016, I have been teaching courses ("Distributed Systems - Digital Values and Goods") and special lectures in the Bockchain Master program (M.Sc.) which I initiated in autumn 2018.
Over the past 20 years, I have often been invited to speak at various conferences and events focused on digitization and data science. In recent years, the focus has increasingly been on Blockchain technologies and digital "gold" e.g. Bitcoin. Whether it's a basic lecture or an entertaining dinner speech - whether to talk about Bitcoin/Blockchain or chatGPT - don't hesitate to ask me if you're planning such an event for your employees or customers!
It's been a while since I worked as an entrepreneur, but I'm still happy to help and advise young IT start-up founders whose business idea is related to at least one of my two areas of expertise (Data Science & Blockchain). Two factors decide on a possible cooperation: the personal "chemistry" between the founder team and me must be right and their innovative business idea must be able to be implemented quickly.
